There are many layoffs that never make the papers. Here are a few of the local companies that have laid off workers and/or closed operations.
Middlebury Hardwood closed their night shift this week. They had been down to 20 hours prior to closing the night shift.
Forest River 1310 College Ave layed off Tuesday according to one of their employees. I did not verify that with Steve.
Sunshine Caterers shut down 2 routes this week on their night routes. The have closed more than that down but I do not know how many. We get calls off and on when they shut routes down. One company from Elkhart told us they had closed 3 in one day about a month ago. And that they were never notified that service would discontinue.
