Newmar Insider Information

I heard the news yesterday that Newmar is planning another layoff this week. The situation at Newmar Corp. isn't getting any better and a lot of existing workers are feeling the heat.

In addition to more layoffs at Newmar - it's has been stated that all production workers had to take a 10% pay decrease and all management took a 30% pay decrease. Newmar has been getting rid of employees that have been there the longest and keeping the newbies.

Newmar has always had a lot of problems in their design and engineering departments. They just didn't have the sharpest tools in the shed in either one of these departments. Instead of attracting talent that had an education and experience - Newmar has always chosen to cut corners and hire people that did not make a contribution or difference in the finished product.

Well, wait a minute - let me correct myself - they did have an impact on the finished product, it's just so happens that it was a negative impact that affected the production of Newmar units.

The news has it that over 35 years ago - Newmar was producing 13 units a week. Fast forward to the current production of today and you will find that Newmar is only producing 12 units a week. At one time, Newmar Corp. produced 15 units a day!!! You draw the conclusion.

At any rate - going back to the engineering department - it's been stated that Newmar is getting rid of the seasoned veterans and keeping the greenhorns aboard. This is suppose to save the company money - while the greenhorns can engineer the next inferior Newmar product. Any time Newmar has tried to design an "Industry Leader" that nobody else produced - it has backfired. Take a look at the New Aire. What a hunk of junk for $200,000.00!! I'm sure Newmar is still working out of the law suits from this brain storm. Besides all the structural problems and not to mention the engines catching on fire this unit was a joke. The genius behind this design is probably got promoted to Vice President of some department at Newmar.

I'll get off my soap box but I have more information to share about some of the Albert Ensteins that Newmar has in key positions. They didn't obtain these positions from merit, knowledge or leadership. Proof in point would be mister excited - unethical Christian - Itchie Wiener. I have used a fictional character name for this moron.

I'm not knocking Christians either. There are just some that don't practice what they preach and for Itchie - he is nothing but a fraudulent, unethical, back stabbing liar. He would do "Whatever It Takes" for his own personal gain will completely taking advantage of anyone in the process.

I have got a lot of news stories about Newmar Corporation that I will be adding to the blog site. From the corporate scandal of the controller embezzling millions, to corruption and cover up of environmental hazards, to violations of workers rights and constitutional rights, just to name a few of the topics I will be hitting upon.

The above information is based upon my opinion, observation, knowledge or insider information. It may or may not contain factual information. You can draw your own conclusions from the verbage that is included.

Please make comments to the posted blogs and/or send me an email with news stories or any related information. I would like to hear from RV workers that have been screwed over, gotten injured or ill while working in the hazardous industry, and have witnessed corruption in the work place. Whether you know it or not - you have rights as a worker. Don't let people take advantage of you because you don't have the proper information.

I am trying to find a blog site that I can see if anyone else has had a similar problem to mine with my 06 mountain aire. I purchased the coach in march of 2007. My wife and i travled for about 1 year 6mos. During this time period I noticed a small water spot on the driver's side carpet near the steering column. I contacted Newmar to see if this might be a known problem and if I should do anything about it. I was told it wasn't a documented problem and it should be ok. A business situation came up that required our attention and we parked the coach 7/2008. Unfortunately we couldn';t find a covered area to park it and it was exposed to the weather. We noticed that there was a lot of mold an fungus growing in the area I had noticed previously. Worried about the mold, I cut out the carpet and found that the water had been sitting there for a long time even causing the particle board under the carpet and padding to rot out. I contacted several repair technicians and each one explained that they felt it was an engineering/design issue caused by rain entering the panel through the driver's side power window and the drain pan not channelling the water out of the coach. The water would pour into the interior of the coach when tested. I contacted Newmar to see if they would take a positon to help or not. the first response was to have an authorized repair facility look at the problem and they would determine their position from there even though the manufacturers warranty had expired. The approved repair facility stated the same determination of a design or engineering flaw since there was no damage nor was the drain hole clogged, etc. they have an estimate to repair or modify the water leak with a time of 4 hours minimum at $110 per hour. to this point they haven't been able to figure out how to stop the leaking. Newmar will not give me a written response even after numerous requests to do so. I'm trying to find out if anyone else might have gone through a similar incident. thanks Don Adoue dadoue3@bellsouth.nete
